William Henghold, MD

William B. Henghold, M.D. dedicates his dermatologist surgery practice to patients with skin cancer. He is a fellowship-trained Mohs Surgery and Reconstructive Surgeon who has performed more than 15,000 Mohs surgical cases.

Dr. Henghold dedicates his surgery practice to patients with skin cancer. He is a fellowship-trained Mohs and reconstructive surgeon who has performed more than 30,000 Mohs and reconstructive surgical cases, to include over 1,000 Mohs surgeries for melanoma. A “military brat” and former resident of North West Florida, he attended Niceville High School while his father was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. Furthering his education in Ohio, he graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Dayton with a degree in chemistry. In 1992, Dr. Henghold earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He served a residency in Dermatology at University Hospitals of Cleveland and completed his formal medical and surgical training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology.

Dr. Henghold served honorably on active duty for eight years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, receiving numerous awards and decorations, and achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Throughout his distinguished military career he held a number of leadership positions, including Chief of the Department of Medicine at Martin Army Community Hospital in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He completed his military tour as Chief of Dermatology at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. Dr. Henghold’s commitment to education is apparent in his research and publications, including multiple journal articles as well as chapters in medical textbooks related to dermatologic surgery. In addition, he has lectured at numerous educational meetings and seminars. He is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He is a member of the medical staff at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where he has admitting and operating room privileges. Dr. Henghold maintains licensure in both Florida and Alabama.
