Dr. Michael Dent, M.D. earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1988 and spent his early career as a Flight Officer in the United States Navy. He flew the S3-B Viking, a carrier based antisubmarine patrol jet, and logged over 300 traps (landings) aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Enterprise aircraft carriers.
After settling down and finding his true calling, Dr. Dent graduated from the Uniformed Services University Medical School, where he earned several Distinguished Academic Performance Awards which are given to the top performing student in each course. He was also selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Michael Dent, M.D., FAAD Honor Society. Dr. Dent completed his dermatology residency training at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Dent is published in several medical journals and has presented at several regional and national settings, including professional presentations at The American Academy of Dermatology and the International Society for Dermatopathology. Dr. Dent is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He also holds membership in the Military Dermatology Association and the Society of United States Flight Surgeons.
Dr. Dent joined Henghold Skin Health & Surgery Group in March of 2017. In his down time, Dr. Dent enjoys spending time with his wife, Aimie, and his children, Caleb and Claire.
